METRIC vs other stuff

STORY HERE IS THIS:

I have been thinking for a LONG TIME how to re-align people so we can all be a better community. I thought and thought, and each time I realized that the best way to get folx to think together was to give them all the same thing to think about.

AND - if it were something NEW to them, they would not already be against it because it was NEW and they didn't know they didn't like it. Or that they DID like it.

I needed a "concept" that would: UNITE - and not be POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS, REGIONAL or STUPID. I actually took this question with me to www.burningman.com for 2004 - and came to a ONE WORD ANSWER.

At least as far as I can see it - this one word is METRIC. Especially here in the US.
It's a WORLD SYSTEM of measurement - that is easier - better - and faster to use than the current "standard" that is used in the US. It's awful and very difficult to work with. Inches and feet and fractions of them both.

METRIC is all based on 100's - like the US money already is.
The beauty here is that IT IS NEW and equally CONFUSING to everybody.

SO - hence this blog - METRIC THOUGHTS. _ thinking locally and being globally useful.

BLOGGING and ME are WUN

Okay, now I want to see if BLOGGING is for ME.
THIS is my desktoop, at one time. It has a LOT of GOOGLE WIDGETS, clock, colorbar, and SYSTEM status guages. AND my fav sign. It's a park here in Eugene, OR, right across the street from TINY's tavern and the JESCO CLUB a big AA meeting room.

So, at first sight, it says SOBER GARDENS, till you look closer and see it's SCOBERT GARDENS and somebody (incredibly wise) wiped out a few letters and created something so advanced in it's positive thinking, that I'm sure only a few people "GET IT." So far, it's only a few. Maybe after this blog - others will get it too.
